Description
On the NE side of Attu Island, near Island Group, Aleutian Islands. 2 miles wide.
History
This bay was called "Goltsovaia Bay" by Captain Lutke (1836, p. 329), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), possibly from the German word "holtz" meaning "wood." The Russians called it "Bukhta Goltsovaya" meaning "Goltsovaya Bay" (Tebenkov, 1852, map 30).
