Description
Basset Island is located in Albatross Anchorage on S coast of Alaska Peninsula, 9 mi. NNW of Swedania Point, Aleutian Range. 300 feet wide.
History
Named "Fassett Island" in 1893 by U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF), for H. C. Fassett of that agency; published as "Bassett Island" in 1912 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS).
