Descriptive name published as Bluff Cape" on an 1890 U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) map, and as "Bluff Point" by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in Coast Pilot (1916, v. 2, p. 184).
