American Bay is located on S coast of Aleutian Peninsula between Blunt and Elephant Points, Aleutian Range; 3 miles wide.
History
Local name. Called "Mobile Bay" by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in the 1916 Coast Pilot (v. 2, p. 165).
