Yukon Reef is located on NW coast of Sanak I., Aleutian Range
History
Local name reported by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1939 "since the Steamship (SS) Yukon of the Pacific Alaska) Navigation Company was lost there June 23, 1913. The residents of Sanak * * * sometimes refer to Yukon Reef as McLoughlins Rocks * * *." Samuel Applegate, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), reported the name "McLoughlin Rocks" in 1900.
